    General Information

The Progressive Equine & Behavior Training Forum provides an opportunity for equine behavior professionals to share a wide range of applied, scientific, and theoretical information with one another.

Everyone who registers must submit a short topic and abstract as part of the registration process, and should be prepared to present a talk.  The abstract is a short summary of the information that will be presented in that talk.  It might review research findings, describe an interesting case study, or present different viewpoints on a controversial topic.  As you plan the presentation and prepare the abstract, be sure to include enough information to trigger a stimulating discussion and allow adequate time for group discussion.

Up to 30 abstracts will be accepted for presentation.  Abstracts will be reviewed for suitability and clarity of the proposed presentation.  The last day to submit an abstract is [DATE}, and you will be informed about whether your abstract was accepted for presentation on or before {DATE}.  The title, presenters, and abstracts for all accepted talks will be published in the Forum program and posted electronically prior to the event.

The talk may be either an individual presentation or group panel discussion.  For panel discussions, only one abstract should be submitted per group, listing the names of all panel members.  Although only one abstract per panel discussion is required, each panel member must register for the conference individually and separately.  All group panel discussion members must be registered before the abstract can be reviewed.

Acceptable types of presentations include original research, cases studies, and application of techniques and equipment.  Any topic related to the field of applied equine behavior & training, and relevant to equine professionals and/or horse owners will be considered.  Suggested themes are:
    • Animal learning and ethology
    • Medical behavior problems
    • Human-animal bond
    • Equine assisted activities and therapy
    • Equine rescue and rehabilitation
